Dr. Daniel L. Badenhop, MD

Dr. Daniel Badenhop received his Bachelor of Science degree from Defiance College located in north-western Ohio. Then, he attended the Ohio State University College of Medicine, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988.

After completing his residency in Family Practice at Riverside Methodist Hospital, he, his wife Beth and daughter Brianna, moved to Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Badenhop worked in urgent care in Florida for five years.

Since returning to Marysville, Ohio in 1996, he has practiced traditional family medicine. He has maintained Board Certification in Family Medicine since 1991, with current certification valid until 2023.

Dr. Delia J. Herzog, MD

Dr. Delia Herzog grew up in Delaware Ohio. She is a Ravenclaw. She graduated from Denison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1992. From 1992 to 1995, Dr. Herzog was in residency at Mount Carmel Family Practice.

After completing her residency, Dr. Herzog began practicing medicine in Marysville, Ohio. She has maintained Board Certification in Family Medicine since 1995.

Dr. Herzog served on the Board of the Medical Group of Ohio. She is currently the Chair of the Department of Medicine at Memorial Hospital of Union County.

She enjoys music, soccer, church and spending time with her children.

Dr. Jeffrey E. Moore, MD

Dr. Jeffrey Moore completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Notre Dame and his Doctor of Medicine at Ohio State University College of Medicine. His residency was at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Moore is married and has one son, Bradley. Since 1993, He has been in practice in Marysville. Dr. Moore is board-certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. Moore is the medical director at Millcrest Nursing Center and the Inn at Halcyon Village. He also is an attending physician at the Gable at Green Pastures and Heartland of Marysville.

Dr. Moore has been board-certified in Family Medicine since 1988.

Karen L. Staats, FNP-C

Karen is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certified FNP. She started her nursing career in 1991 at Miner’s Hospital #1 (which would eventually become Welch Community Hospital) in Welch, WV as a critical care nurse and was cross trained in surgery. At the same time, she worked as a critical care nurse at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, WV. In 1998 she moved to Ohio and worked in critical care at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, OH which merged with Community Hospital to form Springfield Regional Medical Center. At this time, she also worked in the outpatient department of Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, OH as an endoscopy nurse. In 2006 she was awarded her Legal Nurse Consulting Certificate through Kaplan University. In 2009, she started in the Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville, OH. In 2012 she left ICU and transferred to the Heart and Surgical Pavilion and performed cardiac stress testing. She completed her BSN degree at Ohio University in 2012 graduating Magna Cum Laude and continued on, receiving her Masters of Science, her Nurse Practitioner Certification, in 2014. Throughout her career she has instructed many critical care classes and has been an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor since 1996.

She resides in West Liberty, Ohio with her husband and daughter.

Amy Winters, FNP-C

Amy Winters is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. After graduating from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in 2006 with an RN-BSN degree, she started her career in the medical intensive care unit at The Ohio State Universit’s Wexner Medical Center, as a critical care nurse.

After 8 years of working in the acute, intensive setting, she began working at Memorial Health, formerly known as Memorial Hospital of Union County, in the Emergency Department. Not long after transitioning into a rural Emergency Room, she made the decision to return to school for her master’s degree in nursing to provide advanced nursing care to the rural population. Amy worked in the ER as a Registered Nurse for four years while she continued to obtain her master’s degree. She graduated from Mount Carmel of Nursing, Magna Cum Laude, receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing, and Family Nurse Practitioner certification in May of 2016.

Amy enjoys being a part of a small community, watching girl’s high school basketball and attending county fairs. She enjoys being able to provide medical care locally without the residents needing to leave the area. She grew up outside of West Liberty, Ohio on a farm, and continues to reside in the area on a farm with her spouse and three daughters. Together they enjoy trips to Florida’s gulf coast and attending Cincinnati Reds games.

Shelley L. Wyse, PA-C

Shelley Wyse is a Board Certified PA in Family Practice and Surgery. After high school, she served in the United States Air Force, where she worked as a Medical Service Specialist at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Her Active Duty was during Operation Desert Storm, when she had the opportunity to care for the injured Navy Seals and paratroopers on the General Surgery/Trauma unit. She later returned to Ohio where she studied Pre-Med at The Ohio State University, and received her Physician Assistant Degree from Tri-C in Cleveland, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

While obtaining her PA degree, she interned at several hospitals in Cleveland, including The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. After receiving her PA degree, she practiced in Reseda, California specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She received her Master of Science in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies degree from A.T. Still University.

In 1998, Shelley returned to Ohio and has practiced in Marysville since that time. She resides in Dublin with her husband, three children, and their dog Charlie.

Angela DaRe, PA-C

Angela DaRe is a board certified Physician’s Assistant in both Family Practice and Surgery. She comes to Damascus Family Medicine with over 15 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Occupational Health and Family Practice.

Growing up on the west side of Columbus, Angela is a big fan of the Ohio State Marching Band. She obtained her Associates degree at Ohio Valley Christian College in Parkersburg, West Virginia, her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and her Master’s degree at the Barry University PA program in North Miami, Florida. She started her professional career at Hollywood Memorial Hospital, Lee Memorial Hospital and Health Park in Florida, and then moved back to her home state to work at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. At Memorial Hospital, Angela has worked in the Emergency Room, Occupational Health clinic and rounding with the Hospitalist. At the same time, she also worked in a family practice in Marion, Ohio for two years.

Angela, her husband and two daughters enjoy spending their free time playing basketball, softball, camping, canoeing, biking, and caring for their local, small hobby farm.
